Player information Sheet & Registration Form
Here is some key information about the upcoming season.
1. Saturday teams in Queensland Sub-Districts.
All Saturday Senior teams play in the Queensland Sub-Districts competition. All winter cricket is with Warehouse.
Some of the key differences with Sub-Districts:
· Teams are affiliated with a club (no ‘out of the boot’ teams)
· No communal grounds (all grounds linked with a club)
· All wickets are turf (so all games for all grades are played on turf)
· Strong focus on umpire development.
· Kookaburra balls (stamped with the Sub-Districts Logo)
· Spikes are required for all games.
· Club shirt and club cap are required. No exceptions.
· No cash match day expenses (umpires, ground fees). Our club is billed by QSDCA for expenses on a monthly basis.
An earlier registration date is needed this year to allow for clothing orders to be manufactured and delivered before the start of the season.
The club is providing a playing shirt with your full payment of registration this year.
Please triple check your sizes before registering as there will not be a chance to exchange your order.
You are not fully registered until all registration fees and additional owed money from previous season have been received by the club.
3. Payment options
Two ways are available for you to pay your registration fees:
a. In person
Cash, cheque or money order on sign on day or training nights before the first fixture to a member of the executive committee. A receipt will be given upon payment.
b. Direct Transfer
Direct transfer into the clubs bank account. CONTACT CLUB FOR DETAILS
Fees are remaining the same price as per last year.
Summer 2016/17 fees
Game Fees are $20/week to be given to your captain or nominated representative or placed via EFT in the club account before match day.
Absence from match day when you have nominated yourself for selection will incur a weekly charge from now on. For example play week 1 and no show week 2 of a two day game you will be charged for week 2.
If you have any issues or would like to discuss anything, please don’t hesitate to call Sherriff (President) or Keane (Treasurer).
Our club has new club playing shirts that are compulsory to wear for all players long sleeve and short sleeve are available. Our major sponsor AUSTILE is sponsoring the shirts. Club caps or White Floppy cricket hat must be worn match days. Skate caps, other caps/shirts etc. must not be worn.
6. Club assistance
If you have any skills in your occupation (ie. Plumber, Electrician, Solicitor, Landscaper etc) or any potential business sponsors/contacts please speak to a member of the committee about options to assist the club in fundraising efforts. Also any fundraising ideas please speak to a member of the committee.
7. Match Days/Selection
Players will be given a text message on their phone regarding the team you are selected for early in the week preceding the match. Please reply to this as soon as you are aware you are available as this assists with selecting all the teams quickly. If you are not sure if you can play that week tell the selectors early. Do not say you can play then pull out at the last minute this is the worst thing to do from a selection point of view. As well as now being charged, this affects your team and other grades the most and we would rather you just say “not available” this game. For two day games up to three replacement players can be used so if you miss a week you may be able to play the following week in the same game.
Training will be on Thursday nights from 6:00pm. Attendance is not compulsory. A bowling machine will be available on training nights if demand is sufficient.
Players need to arrive at the ground at least 30 minutes before start time please inform your captain if you cannot arrive then as a team sheet must be provided before the match in QSDCA.
Covers may need to be removed from the field or put on prior to match day captains and the groundsman will organise. Generally if you are the team playing at home you are responsible for covers for the pitch please assist where possible.
Play starts 12:30pm until end October and 1pm from November. Play finishes at 5:30pm until end October and 6pm from November.
Lifts to and from away games can be organised within the relevant teams and the club encourages this. While there is no obligation to stay back/return to the club after matches it is genuinely appreciated by the committee that players stay after play finishes. It is a social cricket competition and all players should try to engage in the social aspects of the club. There will be match day awards this year as well as some BBQ’s to encourage this. Please speak to the executive committee if you have any ideas or wish to facilitate any after match activities.
The club is run by volunteers for example they do the cleaning of the club, maintenance of the building, upkeep of the playing fields and run the canteen/bar. We are looking for help with all of these tasks. If you, family or friends are available to help during the week or match days please contact the club executive. If you are unavailable for selection due to injury you can assist your team with scoring, running the bar etc. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
9. Code of Conduct
QSDCA has a code of conduct and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated by the club or association. Repeat offenders will be asked to leave the club.
Good luck for the season ahead.
